Fat Hormones Exposed Why do we gain weight when we do not get enough sleep? Why overweight people have higher levels of leptin (fat hormone) than lean people do? Why we crave sweets? Why do we gain weight as we age? The answer lies in a single word: Hormones. Researchers are convinced that your hormone levels fluctuate based on sleep, calories, exercise and your overall nutrition. Here are the 4 fat hormones: Ghrelin: A hormone secreted by your intestines, ghrelin rises when you haven't eaten in a while, and falls after a midday meal. Ghrelin levels are higher in people who don't get enough sleep. Leptin: Leptin is produced by fat cells and tells your brain to stop eating. When you lose fat, you lose leptin. That's why it's better to lose weight in a slow and steady manner. Leptin is responsible for controlling appetite and fat storage. The good news is that you can manipulate leptin levels with a right diet. Obestatin: A recent discovery, keeping this hormone in check requires a sound nutrition program. This is why is important to have a right nutrition program with your exercise program. Cortisol: When stress is unbalanced and going through the roof, you secrete a lot of cortisol. This increases your blood sugar and makes you feel like you're starving. (Sound familiar)? You need to balance your stress and use supplements. To make it really easy for you to take excellent care of yourself, I have created 8 week body makeover program. My training and nutrition program is designed to enhance insulin and leptin sensitivity. Once you are lowering insulin and leptin levels with training and nutrition program, you will be able to control how your body manages its store of body fat. |
